SuitUP™ Poker

SuitUp Poker

A thrilling poker adaptation tailored for the 8-suit SuitUp deck, offering fresh hand combinations, strategic twists, and high-stakes fun!

Objective

Win the pot by forming the strongest hand or out-bluffing your opponents in betting rounds.

Setup

  1. Players: 2-8 players.
  2. Deck: SuitUp deck (8 suits + 8 wild cards).
  3. Chips: Each player receives an equal number of chips to start.

Card Values

  • Cards are ranked from Ace (high) to 2 (low).
  • Wild cards may substitute for any card but cannot form a SuitUp Flush (see below).

Gameplay Options

You can play SuitUp Poker in Classic Five-Card Draw or Texas Hold’em format.

Option 1: Five-Card Draw Rules

  1. Ante: All players place a small ante in the pot.
  2. Deal: Each player is dealt 5 cards face down.
  3. First Betting Round:
    • Players bet, call, raise, or fold based on the strength of their hand.
  4. Draw:
    • Players may discard up to 3 cards (or up to 4 if they hold an Ace) and draw replacements from the deck.
  5. Second Betting Round:
    • After the draw, players can bet again, increasing the stakes.
  6. Showdown:
    • If two or more players remain after betting, all reveal their hands.
    • The highest-ranking hand wins the pot.

Option 2: Texas Hold’em Rules

  1. Blinds:
    • The player to the left of the dealer posts the small blind, and the next player posts the big blind.
  2. Deal:
    • Each player is dealt 2 hole cards.
  3. Community Cards:
    • Deal 5 community cards in stages:
      • Flop: First 3 cards are dealt face up.
      • Turn: Fourth card is added.
      • River: Fifth and final card is dealt.
  4. Betting Rounds:
    • Bets occur after the deal, the flop, the turn, and the river.
  5. Showdown:
    • Players form the best 5-card hand using any combination of their hole cards and community cards.

Hand Rankings (from Strongest to Weakest)

  1. SuitUp Flush:

    • One card from each of the 8 suits.
    • Cannot include wild cards.
  2. Straight Flush:

    • 5 sequential cards, all of the same suit (e.g., 6-7-8-9-10 of Stars).
  3. Four of a Kind:

    • 4 cards of the same rank (e.g., 4 Kings).
  4. Full House:

    • 3 cards of one rank and 2 of another (e.g., 3 Jacks + 2 Tens).
  5. Flush:

    • 5 cards of the same suit, not in sequence.
  6. Straight:

    • 5 sequential cards, any suit.
  7. Three of a Kind:

    • 3 cards of the same rank.
  8. Two Pair:

    • 2 cards of one rank and 2 of another.
  9. One Pair:

    • 2 cards of the same rank.
  10. High Card:

  • If no other hand is formed, the highest card in your hand determines your rank.

Wild Card Rules

  • Wild cards can substitute for any rank or suit.
  • Penalty for Overuse: If your hand relies on more than 2 wild cards, its rank drops below any hand with fewer wild cards.

Strategy Tips

  • Use Wilds Wisely: Save wild cards to complete high-value hands.
  • Bluff: With 8 suits, the possibilities are vast—use the uncertainty to your advantage.
  • Chase the SuitUp Flush: It’s rare, but pulling this off guarantees victory!

Game Variations

  1. SuitUp Blitz:

    • Deal each player 8 cards. The first to create a SuitUp Flush wins immediately.
    • If no one achieves this, play continues like Classic Five-Card Draw.
  2. Wild Mania:

    • Add a rule allowing players to swap a single card with the discard pile once per turn.
  3. Double Down:

    • Players may place side bets on whether someone will achieve a SuitUp Flush during the game.
